Aguero differentiates the Blues from the Reds

The headline may well be a misleading one for it was not Manchester City but Manchester United who saw themselves let down by one of the experienced defenders in the playing eleven. Yet the credit must go to Manchester City for they had to score to win it and, that too, on a day when the referee was turning down almost each and every appeal made.

sergio-agueroManchester United barely made their way through to the City defense in the first 32 minutes when they were playing with eleven players on the field. So the question of making any sort of attack can be ruled out of question easily. The only thing that could be discussed that how many would City put past the United defense. Well they could not get more than just one goal. That’s the only positive that Manchester United can take from today’s show. Other than this United just did not have anything to show. The only time there was a bit of cheer for United was during the moment when Chris Smalling received his second yellow in the first half and the cheer quite obviously came from the City supporters for they could find one of themselves in United colour. The way Smalling got his first yellow was even weirder as the referee had no other option than to book him when he prevented Joe Hart from taking a shot.

However nothing can be taken away from Manchester City for they looked more organized right from the very beginning. They looked dangerous on every move forward. When United got reduced to 10 men it seemed just a matter of few minutes for them to strike. They took a bit longer but eventually they did so, on the 60-minute mark when Sergio Aguero’s side-footed shot found the back of the net. For the rest of the 30 minutes they did not go for too much otherwise the scoreline could have looked even for sickening for United fans.

To add to all these woes Marcos Rojo’s injury came just like an icing on the cake for United. With Chris Smalling out for the sending off and other defenders (can’t take their name for that would unnecessarily increase the length) injured for time unknown, Louis Van Gaal has got a tough task on hand. Perhaps Michael Carrick will again come as the rescuer for players Carrick, Rooney only deserve top wear the esteemed jersey of Manchester United.
