SP walks out of Janata Parivar to contest independently

cover

In a startling move on Thursday, the Samajwadi Party chose to walk out of the Janata Parivar alliance in Bihar, with its party leader Ram Gopal Yadav informing the press the party’s decision to contest the upcoming polls independently. Yadav said if the party required support it might speak to some other parties. However, he stated, that wasn’t on the table.

Reportedly, the Samajwadi party leaders in Bihar felt cheated on having given only 5 out of 243 seats, which is why they chose to divorce with the alliance they had entered earlier. Also, the Janata Parivar, according to the SP, did not consult it while declaring candidates for the Bihar elections.
