The trending issue of net neutrality might get backed by the Government of India, which is likely to support the netizens in their combat for saving the internet and maintain its neutrality.

In the wake of the campaign, demanding net neutrality, gaining support, the government is viewing this a crucial thing to ponder over. Restrictions to access internet would further prevent digital knowledge and would harm the privacy of the users.

Information Technology and Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad on Monday said, The Times of India quoted, “We feel that Internet is one of the finest creations of the human mind. It should have linkages with the common man in a non-discriminatory manner,” informing further that a committee had been set up in the department of Telecommunications to help the government take a comprehensive decision on the manner, and that the committee will give its report in the second week of May.

The committee set up will be independent of TRAI. The government has been certainly focusing on a project aimed at digitalization. Though Ravi Shankar Prasad refused to state anything explicitly, he emphasized on the need for providing internet to all, including the poorer sections of the society.

The Net Neutrality campaign has gained a tremendous amount of support from the netizens, over the past few days, ever since this campaign has commenced.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
