Nitish meets Deve Gowda and Karat

Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has met Janata Dal (Secular) chief Deve Gowda and CPM general secretary Prakash Karat in Delhi on Monday.

The meeting has been seen as a significant step towards forming a non-BJP-non-Congress third front for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Third Front“It wasn’t a formal meeting, we had an informal interaction for non-cong, non-Bjp front, a formal meeting will take place later,” Nitish told reporters after the meet.

“Nitish was in Delhi so we discussed how should we take this non-cong non-bjp front forward,” Prakash Karat said.

Reacting to BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi’s mockery of third front, Karat on Sunday had hit out at Modi for calling the third front – a ‘third grade’.

“Modi has spoken against the Third Front. He called it third grade. He is right as third grade is highest grade, he is still in first grade,” Karat said adding, “We have to get rid of communal forces in the country.”

Karat led Left parties have been tirelessly working on Creating a third front with the support from various regional parties like AIADMK, Janata Dal (U), BJP, Janata Dal (S), AGP  and Jharkhand Vikas Morcha. However, the main problem for Karat is choosing the prime ministerial candidate from the group as there are multiple strong contenders from each party and anyone can come out from the alignment if their aspirations are not fulfilled.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
