Kerala CPM workers attack Oommen Chandy

Kerala chief minister Oommen Chandy got hurt on Sunday in Kannur when he was going to attend a function there.  

CPM-led LDF workers reportedly blocked the road and threw stones on his car. The protestors were showing their agitation against the solar panel scam.

Chandy suffered injury on his forehead.

“It is a dastardly act. It is an attempt on his life. CPM will have to explain whether it will justify such an attack,” said state cultural affairs minister KC Joseph.

CPM has, however, denied the allegation.

“It was a drama enacted by Congress workers to get some sympathy,” said DYFI (CPM youth outfit) leader M Shameer.

Police have arrested five CPM workers.
