The principle Opposition party BJP has launched fierce attack on government over the alleged Railway Board bribery case in which Railway Minster Pawan Kumar Bansal’s nephew was arrested for taking a bribery of Rs. 90 lakh from a railway official to ensure a top level potion for him in the railway board.
BJP demanded Pawan Kumar Bansal’s resignation on Saturday and said CBI should indict the Railway Minister.
“This government is no more a common man’s government. It is a government of dealers, brokers and middlemen. All decision of the Government of India are on sale,” said BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad.
BJP also attacked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for protecting the ‘corrupt’ ministers and encouraging corruption in the country.
“No moral right left to govern India because under his leadership, India is getting established as the most corrupt country in the world. Congress has reduced government to a bazaar, where every decision is tradeable,” said Prasad.
“This government is no more a common man’s government. It is a government of dealers, brokers and middlemen,” said Ravi Shankar Prasad.
BJP seeks President Pranab Mukherjee’s intervention and demands Bansal’s withdrawal from the cabinet.
“Within his constitutional rights, the President of India should exercise his authorities to ensure that Bansal is booked and appropriate actions are taken against him,” Prasad added.
Embarrassed Congress, however, backed Bansal by saying there is no need for him to resign.
