The political battle between Aam Aadmi Party and BJP intensified after the Delhi police arrested AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan on charges of threatening a woman with rape and murder on Sunday.
A woman on July 9 filed an FIR with Jamia Nagar police station saying she was threatened by a man, who claimed to be acting under Khan’s instruction. The man warned her not to politicizing the power cut issue and she would be raped and murdered. The police registered the case under section 164 of CrPC.
Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal attacked the centre, claiming it was a false case against Khan.
Soon Khan’s arrest AAP launched a protest outside the police station.
