Cars, Buses vandalized in the Bengaluru riots over PF

Agitated about the government’s new provident fund rule, thousands of garment factory workers clashed with the police in the city’s Silicon Valley on Tuesday and set several cars and buses ablaze. The protest, however, has now been withdrawn.

Stones were pelted at a police station. Cars and  buses were vandalised and torched as the agitations snowballed.

The police detonated tear gas batons to control mobs.

The huge 5-hour long traffic jam was brought under control only in the afternoon.

State Home Minister G Parmeshwara said: “There seems to be no leader for the protest. The police has worked with great restraint.”

The riot came after the government proposed a new rule in February as to how employees could withdraw savings from their Employee Provident Fund or EPF.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
