US President Barack Obama arrives in India

The U.S President Barack Obama has arrived in New Delhi, with his wife Michelle Obama. The Air Force One landed at Palam airport, New Delhi, at around 9:40 this morning. Red carpet was rolled to welcome President Obama and his wife.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with the United States Ambassador to India, Richard Verma, Foreign Secretary Sujata Singh and Union Minister Piyush Goel were present at the airport to receive the President.

After walking down, the President shook hands with the Prime Minister and gave him a warm hug.

The President and his wife left the airport in ‘The Beast’. A grand ceremonial welcome has been planned for them at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, after attending which, they will be paying homage to Mahatma Gandhi’s crematorium at Rajghat.
