Modi asks China to resolve incursion issue immediately

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed India’s concern over the incursions by the Chinese force along LAC in Ladakh and raised the issue with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.

The Prime Minister asked Xi to expedite addressing border issue and try to resolve the issue soon. The Chinese President has promised to settling the issue.

Modi asks Xi to resolve incursion issue immediately “I have expressed concern over what has happened on the borders and said that we need to solve the issue. We have to address the boundary question very soon. We have requested President Xi to resume the stalled process of clarifying the Line of Actual Control,” Modi told reporters after the meeting.

“I suggested that the clarification of Line of Actual Control would greatly contribute to our efforts to maintain peace and tranquility,” he added.
Modi said that he also raised issues like stapled visa with Xi.

“I discussed India’s concerns relating to China’s visa policy and trans-border rivers. Early resolution would enhance mutual trust,” Modi said.

Xi said, “China-India boundary issue is a problem which has troubled both sides for long. There have been a few incidents along the Indo-China border due to unclear demarcations. This must be settled soon. China is determined to settle the boundary question at an early date.”

Both the countries pitched for strong economic tie-ups. China has assured $20 billion investment in India over the next five years.

“China will setup industrial park in Gujarat and also in Maharashtra. We talked about development in railways, encourage improvement of speed of the trains Narendra Modi- Xi Jinpingbetween Chennai and Mysore,” Xi said.

“Both PM Modi and I agree that both India and China share common development goals and philosophies,” he said adding, “China will continue to take active steps to reduce the trade imbalance and provide more market access to Indian products.”

“When India and China speak in one voice, the world will pay attention. China and India will act as twin engines to promote growth and prosperity in the region,” Xi said.

“I invite PM Modi to China sometime early next year. We declare 2015 as Visit India Year, 2016 as Visit China Year,” Xi said.
