PM Modi visits ancient Toji Temple in Japan

On the second day of his Japan tour, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today visited famous ancient Toji Temple in Kyoto with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.

Toji Temple is among UNESCO world heritage sites in Japan. Modi spent around half an hour there and spoken to Chief Monk Mori who briefed him about the history of the eighth-century wooden Buddhist pagoda.

Modi also took time in shaking hands with the people, gathered to see him. Some of them carried Indian flags.

PM Modi will meet the Governor and Mayor of Kyoto later today. He will also visit the Kobe Central University to check Japan’s stem-cell research.

PM Modi will go to Tokyo this evening. The formal bilateral meeting will be held on Monday.
