Protestors slam BJP for backing Section 377

The activists slam the Bharatiya Janata Partyfor its stand on Section 377. Party president Rajnath Singh has said that BJP supports Supreme Court’s verdict on sec.377 which makes homosexuality a crime in India. Singh said they will not support any ‘western culture’ in India.

“We will state that we support Section 377 because we believe that homosexuality is an unnatural act and cannot be supported,” Rajnath told a leading newspaper.

Activist Anjali Gopalan slams Rajnath Singh over his comments.  

“There are evidences and understanding of homosexuality but the leader of a party calls it an unnatural act which makes no sense. Our fight will continue. We hope that better sense prevail.”

Set aside the Delhi High Court’s landmark judgement on section 377, The Supreme Court said upheld section 377 and criminalising homosexuality in India.
