China criticises International Court, warns military presence

In the latest developments, Beijing has apparently mocked at an International court’s sharp verdict of rejecting its geographic claims over parts of the South China Sea. This was followed by strong messages from the Communist party-controlled newspapers and journals expressing warnings of an increased military presence, in an attempt to respond at what was called as an America tactic to hamper China’s growth and development.

Just a day after the United Nation’s tribunal gave out a statement that seemingly posed a threat to the Chinese claims over the waters, the Chinese capital issued verdicts of their own, further terming the ruling as a ‘piece of paper that is destined to come to naught’.

Past instances report that the nation has moved a step ahead and even claimed Philippines, a neighbouring small country to be their own. However, the Chinese maintain their own version. The Communist party, in one of their publications, mentioned that ‘we do not claim an inch of land that does not belong to us, but we won’t give up any patch that is ours,’ further expressing strongly that the nation won’t accept  ‘downright political provocations’ either.
