A day after India’s protest, the Mumbai attack master mind Zakiur Rehman Lakhvi’s detention in jail has been extended for a month by Pakistan.

Punjab Provincial government on Saturday increased detention under public order on 26/11 accused, Lakhvi. His lawyer claimed that the order came due to the pressure from India and said they will challenge this order in the High Court

India registered its protest on Friday with Pakistani High Commissioner Abdul Basit soon after Islamabad High Court ordered Lakhvi’s release.

Lakhvi, leader of banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Toiba, is accused of being planner of the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008 in which 166 people were killed and over 300 were injured.

Lakhvi was arrested in February 2009.
