Terror outfit Boko Haram has reportedly kidnapped at least 185 people in northeast Nigeria, among them several were women and children. Early on Sunday the Islamist extremists stormed the town of Gumsuri in Borno and killed 32 people before taking away over 185 people with them.

Despite President Goodluck Jonathan’s assurance to protect civilians from the terror, the Boko Haram continued to spreading violence in the country.

In April the group had kidnapped over 200 girl-students from Chibok.

According to reports a convoy of gunmen burned the village using petrol bombs and destroyed several properties.

AFP quoted a local villager, Mukhtar Buba, who said, “After killing our youths, the insurgents have taken away our wives and daughters,”

The Nigerian government has yet to confirm the report.
