After Peshawar Attack, Taliban threatens for more

In the immediate aftermath of the atrocious and horrendous attack on school children in Peshawar, the Tehreek-i-Taliban terror group has issued a warning of more attacks, if the Pakistani military and intelligence do not stop their operations against militants.

The TTP (Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan) has also threatened to kill the children of Pakistani Politicians and army officers. The security around politicians and army personnel’s has been beefed up.

According to The Times of India, which has access to the letter, the warning came in the form of a letter, written apparently by Mohammed Kharasani, believed to be a top commander to TTP chief Mullah Fazullah.

The Times of India report quoted lines from the letter which said, “Let us make it clear to Pakistan establishment that if any of our associates is harmed, we will avenge ourselves by targeting your children. We would ensure that houses of army generals and political leaders become centers of mourning.”

This threat has come in a day after the Pakistani government hanged Dr Usman and Arshad Mehmood, and two suspected TTP men were killed in an encounter in Karachi.

A Reuters report suggested that the mastermind of the Peshawar school carnage is Umar Mansor, a 36 year old man, considered to be close to the TTP leader Mullah Fazullah. The report also said that Mansoor is himself a father of 3 and is a volleyball enthusiast.

In the meantime, Pakistan’s President Mamnoon Hussain has warned the Talibani terrorists to either surrender or face justice. He has also rejected mercy appeals of 17 convicts facing death sentence.
