NATO allies assure aid while operation against ISIS continues.

Along with other crucial issues, the issue of combatting ISIS was discussed yesterday in NATO summit – 2014 held at Wales in the United Kingdoms. And the outcome of this discussion has been progressive with NATO allies agreeing to join the mission against the ISIS terror group in Iraq. President Barack Obama who held a press conference in Wales, at the concluding day of the summit informed the press about this.

He said that he left the summit “confident that NATO Allies and partners are prepared to join in a broad, international effort to combat the threat posed by the ISIL.”

“Already, Allies have joined us in Iraq, where we have stopped ISIL’s advances; we’ve equipped our Iraqi partners, and helped them go on offense. NATO has agreed to play a role in providing security and humanitarian assistance to those who are on the front lines. Key NATO Allies stand ready to confront this terrorist threat through military, intelligence and law enforcement, as well as diplomatic efforts. And Secretary Kerry will now travel to the region to continue building the broad-based coalition that will enable us to degrade and ultimately destroy ISIL,” he asserted.

Efforts bearing fruits:
The Kurdish Peshmerga forces, along with the assistance from the U.S airforce, were able to gain back several villages from the ISIS in Iraq. Recently, Amirli town was reclaimed by the Iraqi army and now several other villages too have been freed.

Open threat to Putin.
Meanwhile, the ISIS militants threatened Russia through a video that they released. Spectralhues Is learning through Iraqinews.com that Russia’s President Putin has been threatened by the ISIS. The ISIS militants have reportedly seized a Russian war plane that was sent to Syria.

According to Iraqi News, a member of ISIS directs his words to Putin, “these Russian planes which you had sent to Bashar, God willing, will be sent back to your own country; we will liberate Chechnya, and the Caucasus, God willing,” adding that “your throne is threatened by us” adding that “your throne is threatened by us.”

Unconfirmed Reports:
On Thursday, Iraqi’s Defence Ministry asserted the killing of a top aide of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi – ISIS leader, though there is no confirmation on this news.

Abduction:
As this operation against the ISIS is strengthening, the militants are going on a rampage. Reports claimed that the ISIS kidnapped some men at Hawija twon in Kirkuk province of Iraq. Local residents on Kirkuk have made these claims of kidnapping. Let’s not forget that there are still some locations which are under the control of ISIS.

ISIS is probably doing this to supress this whole operation against them. In journalist Steven Sotloff’s beheading video Jihadi John had summoned nations to withdraw their support from this operation.

According to a BBC report, President Obama, on Wednesday, vowed to destroy the group after it released a video showing the beheading of American Journalist Steven Sotloff.

As of now, several places have been reclaimed by the Iraqi army though bigger parts continue to be dominated by the ISIS. As this combat in Iraq goes on, the ISIS continues to expand its influence in countries across the globe, brainwashing people to join them.

A Reuters report published on The Times of India says the confirmation that Islamic State, currently the most successful of the region’s jihadi groups, is extending its influence to Egypt will sound alarm bells in Cairo, where the authorities are already facing a security challenge from home-grown militants.

Well, now as the NATO allies have agreed to assist in this operation, it seems ISIS is perhaps going to fall in the pit that they’ve dug. Since, past three months, the militant group is capturing towns in the country of Iraq. Combatting terrorism is a difficult task but hope so that this decision of NATO allies turns out to be a profitable one.
