In the wake of the recent attack in Paris, Hannover Stadium was evacuated by German security officials over security reasons, ahead of the Germany-Netherlands match. The match was subsequently called off as a suitcase was found in the premises, which raised alarms and security concerns in the stadium. Citing threats the gathered spectators were asked to leave the stadium as quickly as possible. German Vice-Chancellor Angela Merkel, who was also present in the stadium was immediately escorted from the venue.

The Hannover Police Chief said that there was evidence of a bomb attack planned at the stadium. Reportedly, an ambulance full of explosives was discovered by the police,  following which the evacuation process was initiated.

Besides the stadium, a concert hall in Hannover was evacuated by the police, according to The Telegraph. At the time of filing this report no explanation was given by the security officials carrying out evacuation at this venue.

There was huge police presence in Hannover and around both these venues.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
