Admiral R.K. Dhowan appointed new Navy chief

The Ministry of Defence has appointed Admiral RK Dhowan as India’s new navy chief. His appointment raises several controversies including breakage of line of seniority. As per the norm, Admiral RK Dhowan’s senior, Vice-Admiral Shekhar Sinha should have been appointed as the new naval chief of India.

An alumnus of the National Defence Academy, Admiral Dhowan was commissioned January 1, 1975. He is a navigation and direction specialist. He has commanded frontline warships like INS Khukri, INS Ranjit, INS Delhi in his 40 years of eventful career. He commanded the Eastern Fleet, as Flag-Officer-Commanding of the Eastern fleet, and was Chief of Staff at the Headquarters of the Eastern Naval Command.

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
