Winter Sleep Wins Palme d’Or: Winners Announced At Cannes 2014

“Winter Sleep” – three hour-plus drama by Nuri Bilge Ceylan, won the Palme d’Or at the awards ceremony for the 2014 Cannes Film Festival.

Bennett Miller was selected the Best Director for “Foxcatcher”. The Best Actor prize went to Timothy Spall for his turn as J.M. W. Turner in Mike Leigh’s “Mr. Turner. Julianne Moore won Best Actress for playing an actress in David Cronenberg’s Hollywood satire “Maps to the Stars.”

Prix d’interpretation feminine (best actress):

Julianne Moore for “Maps to the Stars”
