Turner Broadcasting To Close ‘Imagine TV’ in India

Turner Broadcasting System to close its Hindi entertainment channel ‘Imagine TV’ in India due to poor ratings and under performance. Turner, a Time Warner company acquire majority stake in Imagine TV from NDTV in 2009 for $117 million.

According to Siddharth Jain, MD – South Asia, Turner International India, Imagine TV has not performed and not grown as per the expectations and they opt to close it. At present Turner operates channels like HBO, CNN, Cartoon Network, POGO, and WB in the country.

Currently the Indian media & entertainment industry revenues stand at 728 billion rupees.
