Sundance Snap: Amirpour omes Up With an Iraninan Noir

Amirpour omes Up With an Iraninan NoirIf Sundance is the showcase of independent voice of film creativity – then one of the most prominent voices from this year’s festival is Ana Lily Amirpour. She had brought to this festival – the first Iranian vampire movie – “A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night”.

Based on the artful graphic novel also written by Amirpour herself – the film is set on the Iranian ghost-town Bad City. The deadly and lonely place is stalked by some lonesome vampire. The movie is artistically shot in inky black and white.

Known for A Little Suicide (2012), True Love (2010) and I Feel Stupid (2012) – Amirpour has set the right tune as her movie premiers on 24th at Sundance.
