The diva has so many achievements to her name in the last year itself, that this is not a shocker. Her fabulous tour, her even more fabulous album have helped her earn a revenue of $ 73.5 million in the last year, over taking her ex-beau, Harry Styles and his boy band, One Direction.
Taylor Swift had a lot going on in the year, professionally as well as personally. Her 1989 World Tour was a major success with guest appearances from Julia Roberts and Taylor’s bestie, Selena Gomez.
The second position was taken by country star Kenny Chesney earning $39.8 million in the past year. The third, fourth and fifth positions were taken by The Rolling Stones, Billy Joel, and One Direction respectively. Making $21.8 million, rock band U2 took eighth in the poll followed by the Hello hit maker, Adele herself, earnings up to $20.5 million.
The music industry saw some classic comebacks from various stars across all genres. With the stars stepping out of their comfort zones and making music more personal, it looks like the music industry will only grow from here on. Here is to a year of more amazing tracks and albums, but most importantly, to a year of fantastic music across the globe!
