NY Critics Circle Apologizes to McQueen

After a day 12 Years a Slave director Steve McQueen was heckled by critic Armond White allegedly called the British director ‘an embarrassing doorman’ – the Critics Circle said it would take disciplinary action against White, who is a prominent critic and a member of the organization.

The New York Critics Circle has apologized to Steve McQueen. “On behalf of the New York Film Critics Circle, I apologise sincerely for the crass bit of heckling Mr McQueen encountered,” said a spokesperson.

Steve Mc Queen, a prominent director is known mostly for his triumphant films like Shame (2011), Hunger (2008), Exodus (1997). He remained tight-lipped regarding the incident though.
