Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu: Movie Review

A ‘perfectly average’ hero, an over extrovert heroine, a romantic comedy, week storyline, good acting – this is the summery of Karan Johar produced Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, which is a valentine gift to the bollywood movie lovers.  One can’t deny that EMAET has taken a ‘strong’ influence from hit hollywood movies like ‘What Happens in Vegas’ and ‘The Proposal’.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is a romantic comedy about two transversely opposite characters. Rahul (Imran Khan) leads  a monotonous boring life. One day he meets Riana (Kareena Kapoor), a girl full of life. After some encounter they went for a drinks and got married in drunken state! The story revolves around this accidental marriage which leads the pair to fall in love, followed by misunderstandings, separations and reunions…

The main drawbacks of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is that the film lacks story. At times the pace is slow and boring.  However the relief one will find in the film from its light humour and fine temperament. The end was quite entertaining and will leave you with a smile.

The chemistry between protagonists Kareena and Imran is superb. Kareena Kapoor is beautiful and is absolutely adorable in her role. Imran Khan was also very decent. Debutant director Shakun Batra is a promising talent.

Overall the film is refreshingly lighthearted despite the week storyline.

Director: Shakun Batra

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
