Deepa Mehta’s “Midnight’s Children” To Be Released In India In Dec 2012

Deepa Mehta and Salman Rushdie at the set of 'midnight's children'The film version of Salman Rushdie’s famous novel “Midnight’s Children” directed by Deepa Mehta, the famous director of trail-blazing if controversial films, is expected to be released in India during December 2012.

Deepa Mehta who had a bitter experience earlier with right-wing mobs chose to film the movie in Srilanka rather than India. Last month, she expressed doubts about the possibility of releasing the film in India given what she called “insecure politicians”.

Deepa Mehta's Midnight's children to be released in OctoberPVR Pictures, the distributors for the film in India, do not however foresee any problem.

Indo-American Actor Satya Bhabha is cast in the role of Salim Sinai. Shriya Saran, Shabana Azmi, Seema Biswas, Anupam Kher, Rahul Bose, Soha Ali Khan, and Siddharth Narayan are cast in the other roles.
