President Obama hosts screening of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom

“The human spirit can’t be contained forever. Truth and justice will eventually win out,” it is exactly what President Barack Obama said after a private screening of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom at the White House.

President Obama hosts screening of MandelaThe small gathering at the event hosted by the President himself included Mandela’s daughters, Zindzi and Zenani along with Idris Elba, director Justin Chadwick, producer Anant Singh and actress Naomie Harris (who plays Mandela’s wife), Harvey Weinstein and Georgina Chapman.

The film depicted the real heart-touching story of Nelson Mandela’s life from his childhood in a rural village through to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.

President Obama spoke before the screening of the movie. A natural speaker he is, he told he was still in law school when Mandela was released from prison in 1990.

The movie will be releasing worldwide on January, 2014.
