Comic Con 2016-The Trailer Extravaganza

Every year, people from around the world flood in to San Diego to see their favourite stars and get updates about their extensively followed series and movies, at the annual Comic Con. So naturally, this year was no different. Thousands of people came together to celebrate whichever fandom they, proudly, are a part of. But this year, apart from the announcement of new movies, new seasons, last seasons, the fans were in for a trailer treat. Many production houses took this opportunity to delight the fans with trailers to their next projects, and boy, were the fans thrilled!  But it was not only the comic con panels that decided to give the fans a quick look of, many other TV shows too had something in store for their fans. Let us take a quick look at all the trailers that stood out from a sea of those.

Justice League

As if this one needs an introduction! Ever since the announcement of a Justice League movie was made, fans were sent into a frenzy. After months of speculation, rumours and castings, fans were finally presented with the first trailer. With Bruce Wayne recruiting Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg along with Wonder Woman by his side, this team makes up for a fantastic watch! Though Henry Cavill’s Superman is missed, we cannot help but drool over the combined star power, stunning visuals that Zack Synder has gifted us.

Wonder Woman

Continuing from where we left, Gal Gabot brings Wonder Woman to life in an absolutely thrilling way. From the looks of it, the history of her character seems to be kept intact. And don’t even get me started on the scenes in which she takes on a number of guys all alone and reduces them to nothing in no time! Chris Pine as love-interest Steve Trevor looks very nice. And THAT LASSO OF TRUTH.

Spiderman

spidermanEver since Tom Holland’s Spiderman was seen in Captain America: Civil War, fans were left asking for more. Yes there were on-shoot pictures, some really cool selfies, but nothing beats a good trailer. Maybe a really good one? That is exactly what the fans got at this year’s comic-con. With the filming having begun only a few weeks earlier, the web-slinger took everyone by surprise with this ultra-awesome first look. Oscorp, Dr. Octopus, web slinging on the streets of New York, all this might sound very familiar and old, but yet there is something very new and exciting about this one. Go Spidey!

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them

When JK Rowling announced that Newt Scamander was going to be adapted for the big screen, the fans of the magical world could not contain their excitement. When the teaser was released, we all cried a little. When the first trailer was released, Hedwig’s theme was enough to get the tears rolling. But when the second trailer was released, it was very hard to focus on anything but the fantastic beasts we found in it. We see a few new characters but it is the beasts that steal the show. JK Rowling strikes again!

 Sherlock

After nearly 2 years (yes, I am excluding The Abominable Bride) of fan theories, rumours, set-lock pictures and sheer patience, we finally have it. The trailer of season 4 of Sherlock is finally here and it looks mind-blowingly awesome. We are not completely introduced to Toby Jone’s character, but whatever little that we see, is enough to get our hearts in our throat. Mrs. Hudson ups her savage quotient, Mary seems to take a liking towards her assassin past, John looks, well, simply amazing, and Sherlock looks like he is in a lot of pain. And how can I not mention Moriarty? Though we don’t see him, but having seen the on-set pictures, we know who’s back  (trying to not give away spoilers). The trailer is everything a Sherlock fan could ask for and one thing is sure, the wait is going to be an extremely difficult one.
