Katy Perry becomes the most followed celebrity on Twitter

American singer-actress Katy Perry is the most followed celebrity on Twitter. With over 50 million followers on Twitter, Katy becomes the most followed person in the world followed by pop-sensation Justin Bieber with about 49.4 million followers. Last year on November Perry had first time dethroned Bieber to become the most popular person on Twitter.

Reacting to news Katy Perry twitted, “Oh yeah AND we grew to 50 million Katycats! Eh, regular day at the office.”

The US president Barack Obama is the third most followed person on Twitter with over 41.2 million followers. Lady Gaga has more than 41 million followers on social networking giant.
