After being banned by media house, twitterati supports Sonu Nigam

Now, it’s a cold war again between the prominent singer Sonu Nigam and media house Zee Co. on the grounds of twitter. Zee News earlier made a video which claims to expose the AAP leader and famous poet Kumar Vishwas. The clip titled ‘Latak Gaya’ shows what all happened moments later after the farmer Gajendra Singh committed suicide; it has Kumar Vishwas saying ‘latak gaya?’ off mic and thus the exposure video was made by Zee media.

Later, Sonu Nigam came out in his friend’s support and defended him by giving a complete different angle to the story and asking everyone to view the matter from another perspective. He tweeted, ‘I am far from politics but I feel this truth should come out for the sake of my poet friend Kumar Vishwas’, also posting a Youtube video- ‘ZEE NEWS EXPOSED: DR.KUMAR VISHWAS-VOICEOVER “LATAK GAYA”’ along with it.

Now that Sonu crossed the Zee Co., the media house immediately took the action by banning Sonu Nigam from all its future projects. It was really shocking for everyone, but the singer adhered to the twitter to reply back saying, “Wonder should it not be illegal to ban someone on the pretext of nothing in a democracy? Influencing others to not to work with an individual. Well, legal or illegal, one thing’s for sure. Banning someone is definitely ungodly.”  His tweet received a humongous response with everyone supporting the singer and disdaining the channel`s coarse decision.  The story was highly trending on twitter with hashtag: #IStandWithSonuNigam.

It was truly an unfair decision taken by Zee media; they may probably have forgotten that we stay in a democratic country where everyone has a basic right to freedom of expression. It was Sonu`s opinion to support his friend, and he just expressed that. Everyone in India has a right to put forth views and thoughts, which should be seen through an eye of respect. It is absolutely wrong to connect one`s professional life with his personal through feeble threads. An artist`s art and his career are totally unalike from his opinions about others. To link art with politics and then ban the artist, Zee proved how it works, through this matter.

We can just hope that after seeing such a wide support of Twitterati, Zee media realizes the futility of its decision and withdraws it well in time.
