Shahrukh is not overshadowing hero’s role in ‘HNY’ – Abhishek Bachchan

The first time I met him, he seems to be very rude but on our second conversation he impressed me with his persuasive gesture. He is concise and crisp with his one word answers which can bring one to the conclusion that he is curt and deeply full of attitude. But after talking to him for almost an hour, I completely change my judgement. Abhishek Bachchan has much to celebrate- the raves received for his Kabaddi team Jaipur Pink Panther and his eagerly awaited film ‘Happy New Year’.

VJT_7255Recently congratulatory messages poured in for Abhishek’s commendable victory. The 38 years old actor’s team ‘Jaipur Pink Panthers’ pulled off the battle and won the first edition of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Spectralhues listens to his next plan!!

That would be an obvious answer but still, how are you feeling after this amazing victory?
Anybody can answer this. Without a shadow of a doubt, I am on cloud nine. We did a lot-n-lot of hard work for this and I always believe hard work does pay. Panthers scored a 35-24 victory in an action packed summit clash in front of a full house with a number of celebrities in attendance. I am lucky to have such a strong and dedicated team.

After Pro Kabaddi, How much you feel yourself connected to Indian sports especially Kabaddi?
Oh, this tournament brought me very close to Kabaddi now. I would love to promote Hockey, Kho Kho and other National sports as well. I believe sports are a fantastic way to drive the nation further. But in present scenario sadly, the nation is not willing to look beyond cricket.

Though you also committed to join Shahrukh Khan in your upcoming film ‘HNY’ promotions, how have you managed?
Actually, god supported me a lot! I am glad that the dates are not clashing. Now, as the league got over and my team gets the triumph, I would be happily concentrated towards the film promotions. Movie promotions will be starting in this month itself but prior to that I am just enjoying and celebrating my team’s achievement.

Going by the trailer of the film HNY, actor’s role seems to be overshadowed by SRK, does that complexes your comfort level?
No not at all! I have never done films after looking the length of my role, 7831_55what pushes me is its depth. I always believe in the story. If my role gives me the feel then it won’t matter that its two minutes long. At the end of the day he is Shahrukh Khan who is much bigger actor than what I am. But when you’ll see the film you will be satisfied with the role I played and you get to realise about the equal opportunity given to each of us in film.

You worked a lot for your role as ACP Jai Dixit in Dhoom Series, now as the promos revealing the film HNY starring a bunch of losers. How the transformation has been?
(Laughs)! Oh, you got it right. It was fun being the team of HNY and you’ll be seeing year’s most dhamka movie with lots of masala. We hope that everyone’s work exceeds their previous best work. Rest if you talk about my character than you have to wait as-
‘Picture abhi baaki hai mere dost’.

You had worked with Aamir and recently finished Post-Production work of your film with Shahrukh Khan, how were the experience?
Both are masters of their work. I have learnt a lot from them and I do love and respect them. Every actor has their own style of working which others won’t do. Aamir is a person of ideas, he is even open to people’s ideology and listens to them. Shahrukh is very great friend of mine. He is full package of enthusiasm, humility and dedication, he is amazing person and actor to work with!

Were you always destined to be an actor?
Can’t say if I was destined to, but yes, I always wanted to be an actor.

Have anybody approached you for remake of Big B films?
No, not yet. I guess everybody knows that there is no one who can be like him in any of his film. It’s impossible to be Amitabh Bachchan.

Did you ever aspire for the super stardom that your dad enjoys?
abhishek 3That’s impossible. My dad, Amitabh Bachchan is a North Star no other star can be as huge as him. My identity has to be mine and so I tried to make my story by my own. I will do the hard work until and unless I don’t get satisfy by it.

With all these work commitments how do you manage to make out time for your daughter Aaradhya?
As other celebrity stars I too have to focus on my work first and then to my family. But for Aaradhya I do make out enough time. Mostly if I shoot in Mumbai I try to keep her with me and for outdoor shooting I make sure that we remain enough connected through phone.

Now what’s next on your list after HNY?
Lil rest (Smiles). There’s Umesh Shukla’s Social film ‘All is well’ which going to portray father son relationship which has Mr. Rishi Kapoor and me. Then next is Amit Sharma’s film that’s all I can talk about it now.
