Sonam breaks down during the trailer Launch of Neerja

Mumbai: Based on slain air hostess Neerja Bhanot’s life, Director Ram Madhvani’s film ‘Neerja’ features Sonam Kapoor in the title role. The trailer launch of Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja that took place at the suburban theatre. Sonam’s eyes got moist while answering certain questions from the media and she struggled to control her emotions.

The trailer gives an a glimpse on the hijack that took place on that fateful Pan Am that led to Neerja’s death. The flight was hijacked by a terror group in Karachi and Neerja died saving three children when she fell in line of fire shielding them. Bhanot was awarded the Ashok Chakra for saving 359 lives from the hijacked Pan Am Flight 73 in Karachi in 1986, though at the cost of her own life.

The film also features Shabana Azmi and composer Shekhar Ravjiani. The film is scheduled to release on 19th February 2016.

Present were: Ram Madhvani, Sonam Kapoor, Shabana Azmi, Anish and Akhil Bhanot (Real brothers of Neerja) and Atul Kasbekar.
