Rani Mukerji to star Aditya Chopra’s upcoming ‘Mardaani’

Rani Mukerji to star Aditya Chopra's upcoming ‘Mardaani’Rani Mukerji has signed Yash Raj banners’ upcoming film Mardaani in which she will be playing a cop. Aditya Chopra will produce the film.

Mardaani will be directed by Pradeep Sarkar, who had earlier directed Rani in ‘Laaga Chunri Mein Daag’.

“The film will be raw and gritty. It is something that neither Rani nor I have attempted before. And it’s always good to invade in new territories, isn’t it?,” Pradeep Sarkar told TOI.

Parineeta famed Sarkar’s last directorial movie was ‘Lafenge Parindey’ starring Deepika Padukone and Neil Nitin Mukesh.

“After Lafenge…, I was working on Mardaani. I didn’t make much noise about it and people wondered where I had gone. I directed many ads in the interim. But now I am bursting to get back on film sets,” Sarkar said.

When asked why he had not picked his favourite actress Vidya Balan, Sarkaar said, “Yes, Vidya is my favourite. But I have other favourites too. And Rani is definitely one of them. I have a very comfortable equation with Rani. And things just fell into place as far Rani’s inclusion in the film is concerned. I told Adi that we should go with Rani in Mardaani.”

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
