NOT LONDON AND PARIS; BOLLYWOOD GOES MUCH BEYOND

Bollywood is one such industry where people are never tired of trying new things and roping in new trends. It always sees after decoding the overlapped and exploring the unknown. This time, it is all about discovering fresh shooting destinations to give a different angle to the movie. Even filmmakers are aware that audiences have had enough of typical backdrops of Eiffel tower or snow-clad mountains of Switzerland or Venice’s unique ‘wavy’ transportation. Our tastes keep changing and so do films implement new trends to keep us intrigued. Let us have a look at few of the upcoming movies which have involved this fad:

  • Tokyo and Corsica

Every Bollywood fanatic is sure to have Asha Parekh’s the most famous ‘Sayonara Sayonara’ on their lips. How can one forget this feet-tapping song from 60 years old movie Love In Tokyo? But after making this signature appearance, the city stayed out of limelight until Imtiaz Ali chose it to shoot the climax of his upcoming flick Tamasha. Starring Ranbir Kapoora and Deepika Padukone, the main sequences of this romantic drama were shot in this hustled-bustled capital city of Japan. Imtiaz did not stop here. He has shot a slice of film in Corsica, a mountainous Mediterranean island.  In fact, Imtiaz did a brilliant job as it is 8881-290-140407-Bollywood-lthe first ever Bollywood movie to be shot in the French island.

  • Croatia

Not many would have heard about it, but it is an Eastern European country having way too long scenic coastlines, making it a perfect destination for shooting. Dubrovnik is an enchanting, old city with its own charm of massive, 16th century-built walls. They are sure to mesmerize anyone who discovers them, same applied to Fan director, Manish Sharma. Shah Rukh Khan did the last schedule of his film here in March. Known for its authentic architecture, it would be interesting to see how beautifully the director has captured it.

  • Seychelles

First time when Indian viewers got introduced to it was in 1996, via Papa Kehte Hain. The place is simply a visual delight for beach lovers, with an awesome color contrast of white sand and diamond clear blue water. But, after so much of evolution in technology, there is surely going to be a great difference between the presentation of Papa Kehte Hain and John Abraham`s upcoming Rocky Handsome. He is currently shooting in this island country with his co-star Shruti Hassan.

  • Bulgaria

Bulgaria always makes it in news headlines due to its international controversies with Greece, Serbia and Turkey, but this time, it is a discussion point in Bollywood only because of Rohit Shetty who decided to shoot his Dilwale there. A few days ago, SRK shared a picture of him and his co-actor Kajol on social networking site, which went viral in no time and gave Bulgaria a booming period in Hindi film industry. Presently, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon are shooting a song for the same film in this Balkan nation.

  • Beirut

Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer, Phantom is the most anticipated movie of Kabir Khan. Acknowledged for his excellent directorial skills, he has taken enough efforts to make this film a magnum opus. Based on the concept of counter-terrorism, the film has been shot in mountainous capital city of Lebanon. Shooting has been done around Khandak al-Ghameek and Mzaar Kfardebian, the largest ski resort in the Middle East. Of course, the audience is excited to view this unexplored place through Kabir Khan`s eyes!

Exploration is always inspiring, Ibn Battuta tells it well with this soulful quote, ““Traveling – it leaves you speechless; then turns you into a storyteller.”

Hope Bollywood goes seamlessly beyond the border lines and serves some more interesting places on movie platters in coming days and give us a nice travelling experience in theatre itself!
