Dilip Kumar Turns 90 Today

Legendary Bollywood actor “Tragedy King” Dilip Kumar has turned 90 today.

Dilip Kumar was born on 11 December 1922, in Peshawar (now in Pakistan) as Muhammad Yousuf Khan.

Dilip Kumar started his acting career with “Jwar Bhata” (1944) and has acted in more than 60 films in a career spanning 55 years. The last film he has acted in is Qila (1998).

Dilip Kumar was honoured with “Padma Bhushan” award in 1991. He was awarded the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1994 for his monumental contribution to Indian Cinema. He holds the Guinness Book world records for the highest number of awards won by an Indian actor.

Dilip Kumar is married to Sairabanu – one of the prettiest actresses of Bollywood. He married Sairabanu in 1966 when he was 44 and she 22. The couple have been going strong despite early misgivings of onlookers about the marriage given the unusual age difference.
