Two back-to-back events make Huma Rapturous

Different-from-trend actress Huma Qureshi is on cloud nine these days due to the string of happy sequences which are entering her life one by one.

First, let us discuss about the upcoming film Badlapur- a blistering and filled-with-vengeance drama – in which Huma will be seen playing not just a lead but also a significant role. Though the movie stars Varun Dhawan and  Nawazuddin Sidiqqui as main characters, Huma is too ecstatic about bagging a role in this film. It is an exceptional and close-to-heart film for her as it bestowed on her a golden opportunity to work with her favorite director Sriram Raghavan, says the graceful actress. He has managed to execute his role as a director very well by pulling Huma out from the garb of customary films in which she had acted so far.

Unveiling very little about her character in Badlapur at the launch of a magazine cover on Monday, she said,” In ‘Badlapur’, my character’s name is Jhumli. It’s a special film for me because I got a chance to work with my favorite director, Sriram Raghavan. I’m a huge fan of him. And from the time I saw his films, ‘Ek Hasina Thi’, ‘Johnny Gaddaar’, I really wanted to work with him.”

Huma’s flair for the acting was largely acclaimed by many after examining her performance in films like Luv Shuv Tey Chicken Khurana, Ek thi Dayan, D-Day, Gangs of Wasseypur, and Dedh Ishqiya. All these films carried almost a similar heart as they were mainly influenced by realism and social affairs. Thus, Huma feels that Badlapur has really offered her a challenging role and will reveal her unseen side as an actress. Summing up the statement she said, “About my character, I would only say that Sriram (the director) has really put me outside my comfort zone. I think Jhumli is a character that I possibly did just because of him. I don’t think I would have put myself through playing such a difficult character,”

Acting in this film would have surely been one of the good phases in Huma’s life as it might help in revolving her career globe in the near future. The movie heads a strong star cast including Divya Dutta and Yami Gautam in key roles and is set to release on 20th Feb, 2015.

Now drops in the second exciting news, which is all about the Hindi remake of Hollywood movie Oculus. Not only has she been offered a role in this film, but it can also give her a chance to share the screen with her actor brother Saqib Saleem. Expressing her gladness about this news, she said at an event, “Yes, it’s true. We have been offered that film. It’s a very exciting film. Let’s see how it goes. It’s too early to comment on it, but to act in a film with Saqib would be very exciting. We both are different actors, we both have different energy levels and we both are very different human beings. So, to work with Saqib will be very enjoyable.”

It is our job now to watch how things will work out in the future and what more surprises destiny holds for her! Currently, we can only wish her best luck for her Bollywood journey!
