The premiere screening also eyed the presence of the lead actress, Rani Mukerji, who further attended a press conference and had an interactive session with the media as well as enthralled fans, leaving no questions unanswered.

Rani, who was completely filled with enthusiasm, said descriptively, “”It was a very special day. The response to the film by the Polish people made the evening even more special and it reiterates the fact that a good film finds an audience irrespective of the language in any part of the world. I will cherish forever the love and adulation I received today from Poland.”

Rani was lauded by one and all present at the event for her excellent performance and decision to choose to be a part of this unique creation. The film’s handiwork was eye-catching up to such an extent that it received a standing ovation from the spectators present over there.

Mardaani showcases Rani playing a headstrong and courageous lady cop who fights her best to eradicate the vicious trap of child trafficking. The great significance was the Polish cinematographer, Artur Zurawski, who has also worked as DoP (Director of Photography) for Mardaani, attending the event with his family.

Approximately, Polish natives counted up to 90% of audiences who were left totally awestruck by the changed avatar of Indian cinemas, about how it was a few decades ago and presently it has started touching social and sensitive issues.

Talking about the intensity of the burning issue of trafficking, Rani Mukherjee said, “It is a great pity that because of global terrorism, people are not paying enough attention to the other problem like global human trafficking particularly of young girls. This is also a huge billions of dollars racket just like drug mafia. The trafficking of girls is not only limited to South Asian countries; it became a big racket after the fall of Berlin Wall in Eastern Europe. If in the 1990s Russian girls were being used in the international market, now Ukrainian, Romanian and Syrian girls are being traded. The vultures are always on the lookout for human flesh. To meet this huge challenge there should a huge response from the NGOs all over the world.”

The actress further asserted that, “The success of Mardaani has raised the problem and many NGOs have come out openly to work in this direction. A picture conveys the message more potently. This medium should be used more extensively and honestly. Yashraj Films understands its social obligations more seriously than many other productions.”

rani-mardaaniShe even revealed her wish to work in a Polish movie, “Poland has a tradition of producing great movies. Your stalwarts like Andrezj Wajda, Roman Polanski, Krzszytof Zanussi and many others have been awarded at the international festivals. I too am ready to work for any Polish or western movie.”

Both, Rani Mukerji and Artur Zurawski, were honored with special awards by J.J. Singh, president of the Indo-Polish Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IPCCI) for promoting and bringing into light the human trafficking issue.

The Indian release earned Rani titles like ‘Mardaani being her career-best performance’ and many such acclamations. Now, let’s see what compliments Polish fans have got for her as the film hits the Poland theatres on 30th January, 2015.
