Academy awards 2016

2015 proved to be a great year for motion picture enthusiasts considering the number of movies that came out. There was a good amount of original dramas, biopics, sequels, and revivals of classic franchises in 2015; some which lived up to the promises they held, and some which failed. Nonetheless, anyone who enjoys the art of cinema certainly had a good time at the theaters last year – from Mad Max: Fury Road to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Last night, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences presented the previous year’s best movies and artists with the accolades they deserved at the 88th Academy Awards. The ceremony was held at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California, and was hosted by actor Chris Rock for the second time in the presence of some of the veterans from the industry. The awards were presented by artists including director J.J. Abrams, Cate Blanchett, Chadwick Boseman, Priyanka Chopra, Chris Evans, Morgan Freeman, Eddy Redmayne, and the like. The ceremony consisted of performances from Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, The Weeknd, Harold Wheeler, and Dave Grohl. Although, the Academy has been dealing with issues concerning lack of racial representation from the African-American community in the awards, the Oscars still remain the most prestigious accolade in the industry according to viewers and movie-makers. Here’s the complete list of nominees and winners in different categories from last night:

Sprightly Spirit

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
