MARVEL’S NOT-SO-COMIC DEVELOPMENTS, ALL HERE

If 10 years ago someone told me that secondary Marvel characters like Iron Man and Captain America would out perform DC heavyweights like Batman and Superman, I would have simply laughed at the mere thought of something that unlikely happening. But cut to 2016, Captain America: Civil War has been a thundering success while its DC counter part,Batman V Superman, has not even come close to the its success.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is a massively successful as well as an extremely popular and interesting universe to lose oneself in, be it the movie or the comics. In 2008 when Marvel began its journey with Iron Man, a B-list character and a troubled actor in Robert Downey Jr, no could have seen what was about to come. Not only was it a hit at the box-office but it also launched the Marvel Cinematic Universe that we have all come to love. So naturally, any and all news and revelations pertaining to the universe, comics as well as movies, have the fans talking and debating over. So we decided to get you MCU fanatics updated on all the recent developments. And obviously, there are going to be spoilers ahead. You have been warned, now lets assemble.

1. Captain America- History with Hydra

What happens when you take the most patriotic hero and turn him into a secret agent for the enemies? All hell breaks lose. When Nick Spencer in Captain America: Steve Rogers #1 revealed in the end that Cap hails Hydra, no one could believe what they had just witnessed. But in Captain America: Steve Rogers #2, the story has been properly explained. Fans of the star sprangled hero can finally breathe a sigh of relief. Marvel Editor-in-Chief Alec Alonso revealed that Cap just thinks that he is a Hydra agent because he has false memories implanted by Kobik, the sentient Cosmic Cube who became a girl. Good news right? I spent the last few weeks in horror for no reason! Phew.Captain America

2. Marvel makes Donald Trump into a Supervillian

Marvel is the latest addition to the list of people who are ‘not-very-fond’ of a certain Presidential candidate. A character based on legendary Spiderman villian M.O.D.O.K and Donald Trump has lead to the creation of M.O.D.A.A.K (Mental Organism Designed As America’s King). In the comic, he says,” If America will not act… M.O.D.A.A.K must!” These years election is certainly unlike any other America has every witnessed.Donald Trump

3. Quicksilver to return

Rumor has it that the older half of the Maimoff twins is all set to return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the highly anticipated Infinity Wars. When Quicksilver died in Avengers: Age of Ultron, it  left the fans asking for more. When asked about this development, Aaron Taylor-Johnson said that Marvel did have a costume for him had the character not died. And considering Marvels history with killing off its characters(Agent Coulson, Nick Fury, Loki) bringing him back would not be that bizzare a thing. Plus, we would really enjoy having him speed through hard situations and also, how can we forget that sense of humor that he brings with him.Quicksilver

4.   A Black Woman as Iron Man

Iron Man for a long time now has been the face of the MCU. So now, make way for Riri Williams, the genius who built her own version of the Iron Man suit in a dorm room at MIT. Having debuted in Invincible Iron Man No.7, she is portrayed to be even more resourceful than Stark and just as stubborn. Though the fate of Iron man is kept quite as of now, the cover of Civil War II No.7 is already suggesting that the fight with Captain Marvel might not end on a good note for the film. So is this a goodbye to the fan favorite Tony Stark? Onlytime will tell. But what we know is that we have an equally sassy, hilarious and a total badass Iron (Wo)man all set to take on the mantle.Iron Man
