Heaven Is For Real Scores High On Easter Weekend

This Easter weekend, the Christian drama “Heaven Is For Real” did a magic at the box-office. The drama based on the 2010 best-selling Christian book written by Todd Burpo and Lynn Vincent scored an Easter weekend surprise with its strong $21.5 million in three days. It has collected 28 million USD since Wednesday.

????????????????????????????

It is a major score by Sony and producers who produced the movie for 12 million USD. The movie tells the story of a small-town pastor whose son claims to have seen heaven after a near-death experience.

“The Christian and faith-based market has been under-served for years. There’s clearly an appetite for movies that speak to the audience, and this year has proven that, “said a veteran media analyst.

Though the movie star Greg Kinnear claims that the movie is not just for religious folks, it is still being marketed at faith-based viewers. The movie shows the heaven as that age-old stereotypical “on-the-cloud” place where the God lounges all day in a giant chair.

It may challenge our rational thought – but given the target market and the audience need – the movie scored a clean hit.
