New Ford Fiesta launched in India at Rs 7.69 lakh

Ford India has launched the 2014 version of its mid-sized popular sedan Fiesta in the domestic market at a base price of Rs 7.69 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Powered by a 1.5 litre diesel engine, the all new Ford Fiesta will be available in three variants – Ambiente (Rs. 7.69 lakh), Trend (Rs 8.56 lakh) and Titanium (Rs 9.29 lakh).

Ford has claimed that the car delivers a fuel efficiency of 25.01 km per litre.

Commenting on the launch, Nigel Harris, President, Ford India, said, ‘‘The Fiesta has a very special role in Ford India’s product portfolio and is for the pure driving enthusiasts who are known for their distinct choices and opt for nothing but the best.’’

“2014 Fiesta, with its best-in-class driving dynamics, design and in-car technology, is a complete package that delivers much more than the expectations of customers in this segment. What’s better is its attractive price, making our premium sedan an even more compelling option for discerning enthusiasts,” he added.

The new Fiesta comes with high-end on-board technology to provide more safety features. While Ambiente has no music system, the ‘Sync’ onboard computer system is available in the Titanium trim.

With popular hatchback Figo and compact SUV EcoSport, the company had reported over two-time increase in total sales at 12,288 units in May 2014. Ford India expects new Fiesta will boost the sales.
