IHL no longer a part of Taj Palace Hotel, Dubai

Indian Hotel Company (IHL) which is the operator of the Taj Chain and Juma Al Majid Group, owner of Taj Palace Hotel in Dubai have finally ended their long 14 year partnership with each other.

Indian Hotels Company owned by the Tata Group said that Middle East will continue to remain a point of geographic importance.

The Juma Al Majid Group has been seen expressing interest the the areas of real estate and travel, this landing in hospitality.

Having not asserted any concrete reason for the abrupt separation, by the virtual of a mutual agreement the Taj Palace has been handed over to The Juma Al Majid Group on August 31. This hotel was run by the Taj chain since 12 years.

The grandeur of 147 rooms has been renamed as Jood Palace.
Earlier, Taj Mahal Palace was Taj’s only property in the Middle East initially. Later, it opened the 296 key Taj Dubai in the plush surroundings of the downtown Burj Khalifa area.
The Tatas are currently owning and managing 15 properties outside India and they are trying to being the entire international portfolio of properties under a single cell.
