Book Launch of Bound in Love

The 30th August, 2015 marked the book launch Neil D’Silva’s third book, Bound in Love. After writing two books in the horror genre and scaring quite a few people both in India and overseas he decided to venture into the genre of love. A genre that has become so widespread in India that it is difficult to differentiate between the quality of the books. But, Neil D’Silva does complete justice to the book as the panel of esteemed authors gathered at the book launch told the audience about Neil’s amazing stories.

The panel consisted of a lot of talented authors like Rasana Atreya, Ketan Bhagat, Laxmi Hariharan, Anjali Kirpalani, Sundari Venkataraman, Aindrila Roy and Kirtida Gautam. With a panel as amazing as this one, wonders were bound to happen and they did happen. The hosts for the evening were Neelesh Vishwakarma and Arshiya Khan.

The book launch opened with Mr. Neil D’Silva introducing every author on the panel. Mr. Shiv Ramdas was supposed to be a part of it too but unfortunately because of a personal reason, he couldn’t make it. The very witty Aindrila Roy took his place for the evening instead.

bound in loveGiving a quick yet brief summary about the book, Mr. Neil D’Silva told the people gathered that Bound in Love is a collection of 11 short stories or novellas, out of which 11 were new while the other three had been published before. He went on to tell everyone that the twisted stories were a take on human relationships as they never travel on the same road, that there are fits and bursts, and also, rebounds.

Each of the authors on the panel had gotten a sneak-peek of one of the stories from the collection of short stories. Rasana Atreya, author of ‘Tell a Thousand Lies’ told the audience about how impressed she was by one of the stories called, ‘No Chocolate for you’ and declared it a must read for parents as it articulated their secret fears.

Next up was Ketan Bhagat, who happens to be Chetan Bhagat’s brother but writes self-help books. He described Mr. D’Silva’s way of writing to be extremely poetic and went on to recite a few lines from his new story. Each and every author had nothing but words of praise for the story that they had read. Anjali Kirpalani talked about ‘At the Last Stop’, a one of a kind a love story and a pretty conventional one too, not the kind we see in movies and read in sappy romantic books.

The list of stories in the book are as follows-

  • No Chocolate For You
  • The Shoe that Didn’t Fit
  • No Greater Charm
  • At the Next Stop
  • A Song without Music
  • The Other Face of Love
  • New Wine, Old Bottle
  • The Lion and the Queen
  • The Makeover
  • The Death of Parker Greene
  • Julie’s Story

The panel of authors and the audience went on to discussing a few key factors about publishing a book, mainly, Marketing, something that authors find very difficult to do. Methods were shared and advice was given on the topic of marketing. Everyone seemed to have a different and unique opinion about it.

Shortly after that the panel had a discussion on the topic of Indian literature, wherein the latest trending genres in Indian literature were discussed. They turned out to be love and mythology with Chetan Bhagat and Amish Tripathi ruling the roosts. Everyone discussed how it was the need of the hour for quality storytellers to tell their stories and feature on the bookshelves. Contemporary  Indian authors and the quality of writing was the talk of the town!

And the book was launched on a global platform with the help of Amazon and Bound in Love is for sale now! A successful book launch on a free platform, isn’t that what everyone desires. All this without spending a penny because the book launch was an online vent and took place on Facebook. Pretty smart and neat, isn’t it?

SpectralHues congratulates Mr. D’Silva on the successful book launch of his third book and wishes him the best!
