Bridget Jones Mad about the boyAuthor Helen Fielding reveals that in new Bridget Jones novel “Mad about the Boy” she has killed the beloved character of Mark Darcy, immortalized by Colin Firth.

As the book opens, Mark Darcy is dead and Bridget’s (played by Renee Zellweger in the film) a widow with two kids.

Author of the”Bridget Jones” series Helen Fielding also revealed that Colin Firth was sad to hear the news.

“The hardest thing was calling up Colin Firth to tell him. And it was one of the strangest conversations of my life because I had to ask if he had someone with him, if he was sitting down, and it was literally as if someone really had died. Then we sort of started laughing because they hadn’t,” Fielding told US TODAY. “So I ended up telling him he died on the phone.”

Either you keep carrying on doing the same thing over and over again or it means something really important to you and you wait until you’re ready and have something important to say again,” Fielding explained.

Fielding will shock the readers with making returns of one man from Jones’ past – her ex-Daniel Cleaver (played by Hugh Grant). In the book he is expected to “turn out to be a pretty good guy.”

About Sprightly Spirit

“I dare do all that may become a man. Who dares more is none”. And all, may be. It may be the vigor. Or the spirit. Or the courage to avoid being “politically correct” or bent. And, ban all averse with immaculate overture of graciously fathomable words firm in views. Subtle. Justifying the undying conscience. Values. Knowledge. And, dares to stay true. True to own. True to the world. And, to the words. With a dream in eyes it exists. In you. In me. In all. The sprite that never shies away. The spirit that never dies!
